Story

When Julia went to the lobby of the Ranger Mansion, she saw a large sunflower and candytuft bouquet at the reception.

"It's beautiful," she said to the receptionist.

"It's for you actually."

Julia raised an eyebrow, because the staff would usually take care of the fan gifts and letters for security reasons. She read the attached card to find out who sent it.

"To Charge, accept these flowers in place of the words I said. ~ Puppetmaster"

What the hell? Why did the new supervillain send me flowers?

The lab analyzed the flowers, and found them to be harmless. The Rangers tracked the delivery to a flower shop, but there were no security cameras. No one remembered anything about the customer who placed the order either. The Puppetmaster was good at covering up their track.

Three days later, the Puppetmaster sent the second bouquet, which consisted of larger red balsam and dark purple basil flowers. Julia was annoyed, as it added fuel to the jokes of her supposed grand romance with the villain.

Someone pointedly put the bouquets in the middle of the pantry. Probably Argent did this, because Julia stuck the newspaper posting of Argent's public kiss with the Puppetmaster on the fridge.

Julia picked them up to throw them away. It was awkward to say "No, I'm not involved with Puppetmaster." to Steel. For now Cyra was the only person who didn't bring up these stupid flowers.

It still felt unreal that Cyra returned to her life, not to mention that they have started dating. Sometimes Julia wondered whether she was still in a dream.

What will Cyra think about these flowers? Will she feel jealous? Probably not. Cyra never reacted to tabloid gossip about Julia with the supervillains in the past.

But they were only friends.

Eventually Julia put the flowers back. They were still blooming. She might as well keep them for decoration.

"Did Puppetmaster send you these flowers? What do you think of this?" Cyra asked when they met in the pantry. She was in a stylish rainbow coloured striped suit, which made Julia's heart lose a beat.

Julia was glad that Cyra was finally willing to experience nice things for herself. "Annoying, Argent keeps giving me grief about this."

"You did stick that cutting."

"It's a tradition."

Cyra walked closer to the flowers and asked, "Do you think they have a message for you?"

"I saw their message." Julia showed her the card. "It's useless."

"Maybe you should take it from another angle. They probably want to say something."

Julia smiled, happy about Cyra's concern. "Always a sharp mind. You should join us again."

"My days as a Ranger are beyond me. We have discussed it."

"Worth a shot. Now why don't we go for lunch?" Julia said, ready for a date with Cyra.

When Cyra returned to her home above the store front, she read the flower language dictionary again.

"The flowers should be threatening. I'm saying I am indifferent to her. I hate her and she's haughty. Why didn't she get the message? I even sent two bouquets." she thought.

"I should rethink my plan of threatening Ortega with flower bouquets. No, it's because Ortega is frustrating and unpredictable. I still don't know why I agreed to date her. It's so stupid."

Cyra flipped the pages. Next time she should bring a rose. This would show her!
